The following is a list of the steps necessary to create the application. You will probably want to start by creating the Item class, then the ItemList, and finally the Menu.
Create a Menu class.
1. Load the MenuItems array with the menu choices
2. Create the displayMenu() method to display the menu and return the user choice
3. Create the checkChoice(char userChoice) method.
a. Call the appropriate itemsList method, based on the choice.
4. Create the main() method.
a. Instantiate the itemsList class so that there is an existing list
b. Allocate a userChoice variable and set it to 0
c. Begin a loop while the userChoice is not 5
d. Call the displayMenu() method within the loop
e. Call the checkChoice(char userChoice) method, passing the choice returned from the displayMenu method
Create an ItemList class.
1. Class field of arraylist of Item class instances
2. Constructor creates the new arraylist
3. addItem method prompts the user for the item id, name and in stock amounts
• creates an instance of an Item
• adds the item to the arraylist of Item instances
• uses the Item’s toString to display the Item’s information
4. findItem method prompts the user for item id
• searches the arraylist for an instance of item
• calls the toString method to print out Item info if Item is found
• prints a not found message if not found
5. listItems method processes each Item in the arraylist to print out it’s toString info
